(Modena, Emilia-Romagna, Italy) LL4 (stone)
Fell July 1766
If you collect historical meteorites, Albareto is a must have. A single stone of only 2kg fell in Modena, Italy in July 1766, during an age when mysterious rocks falling out of the sky was considered little more that myth and folklore. This is one of the toughest historical chondrites to acquire, and with so little remaining in the World's museums, very little ever reaches the meteorite collecting market. An extremely friable meteorite, originally traded from Modena University.
