Leicestershire: Boom County....

The Leicester Mercury report on loud bangs reported across the county of Leicestershire. It's a good excuse for a picture of the Barwell Meteorite....

Is that the National Space Centre fragment?

Yes, that looks like the national space centre chunk. I wasn't aware until recently that it was so sizeable. Over 4kg apparently! :-)

Over 4 kg? That'll probably be the 1966,56 [4702 g] specimen then?

Do we think the largest fragment [7739 g] is held by NHM? I guess it must be.
