Dr Matthew Genge (Imperial College London) will be presenting a lecture at the Intech Science Centre and Planetarium on the 14th September 2011. The Lecture is entitled Collecting Rocks from Space. Full details will be available on the Intech Space Lecture Series web page. Intech is the South of England's hands-on interactive science and technology centre, with the UK's largest capacity digital Planetarium. Intech is located in Hampshire between Wichester and Alton.

In this talk, Matthew will describe exactly why meteorites and cosmic dust are so interesting and the lengths that scientists go to collect them.

Dr Matthew Genge is a planetary scientist working in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial College London. He is an expert on the study of cosmic dust and meteorites and has searched from these materials in deserts all over the world as well as being involved in their collection in the stratosphere and by space missions.

As this was originally posted a couple of months ago, but the event is yet to take place, I've bumped it up the forum list - to put it back on the first page. Hope that's okay?
