New Meteorites in The Hunterian

From the Hunterian web site. If anyone gets there, I'd be interested in knowing what the new acquisitions are.

Meteorite sample. The Hunterian has an extensive collection of meteorites dating back to the beginning of the 19th century at the birth of meteorite science and the recognition of 'stones from space'.

Meteorite research is a major strength at the University of Glasgow, and Hunterian specimens are regularly sampled for research, teaching and public engagement activities.

In 2014 we applied for a grant from the National Fund for Acquisitions to increase the research value of our meteorite collections. Thanks to this support, The Hunterian was able to purchase a number of rare and unusual meteorite specimens, helping to further meteorite science and public engagement.

This display shows three notable meteorite specimens we acquired last year.

The latest FB timeline photo features NWA 1929, Gujba and DaG 391, which don't seem to be included in the online catalogue -

Thanks. That'll be them. They weren't part of the display the last time I visited the Hunterian in 2012.
