In October 1957 newspapers around the world carried reports of a meteorite fall in Sunbury-on-Thames, on the outskirts of London. Quickly dismissed as a hoax, the story was largely forgotten until the recent discovery of a press agency photograph of the object on an online auction site. Subsequent research has revealed a fascinating story involving a three-year-old girl, the Metropolitan Police, three miniature poodles and the Keeper of Mineralogy at the Natural History Museum. interesting story Kieron

your article mentions 2 photographs of the object at figures 3 and 7 but it's actually 4 and 7 ;-)

that impact pit just doesn't look right at all does it.
would like to get a closer look at that Middlesex Chronicle newspaper.

One interesting tidbit for me personally is the falldate, Nov 6th my birthday.....no meteorite has ever fallen on that day (that we know of)
