Edinburgh Encyclopedia

Postby Kieron » Wed Sep 28, 2011 8:19 pm

Hi Folks,

Here is a source for information on historic meteorites that I have not come across before - The Edinburgh Encyclopedia of 1832. Starting at page 126 there are numerous early accounts of meteorite falls, arranged chronologically, from classical times up to about 1818, I think. Lots of interesting background information too, and certainly worth a browse. Sorry about the long link - hope it works.

Regards, Kieron

Hi Kieron,

Thats really interesting stuff, i have also never come across that before. Just flicking through it and stopped at the Wold Cottage write up and there are some quotes there from Major Topham that i have not seen before, very interesting indeed. Thanks for the link.

Cheers

Martin
