Shirokovsky

Hi all,

Here is a photo of my specimen of the meteorwrong Shirokovsky

This is different to my previous slice in that this piece shows a strange structure of metal grains within the slice. Looks like two very distinct metal alloys that have not been fully homogenised. Seems to me to be a clear indicator of its man made nature. Anyone have any other ideas?

Hi Martin,I got a slice of this too quite a few years ago when I already knew it had no CRE age and was pretty much known to be madmade.I mean manmade lol

would be interesting to see it being done though.Was it purposeful or a serendipitous discovery one wonders.

Rough translation: "so there I was melting iron when my wife walked by carrying a large box of olivine. She tripped over the cat and the entire box of olivine fell into the molten iron. It seems I had stumbled across the perfect method for making fake pallasites!"

Ha, excellent Matt! All joking aside though its still an interesting specimen and one that i am glad to have in my collection, however it was produced!
