This month I'm pleased to present a breathtaking 20.46g specimen of the recent Martian shergottite fall Tissint. The fall was observed back in July 2011 in Morocco. After much speculation, the total known mass was agreed to be around of 7kg, although it's likely this has gone up slightly recently. This image was kindly provided by Graham Ensor. Beautiful stone Graham. Love the different fusion crusts, some if it almost looks transparent?

One to be proud of for sure!

Cheers

Martin

Yes indeed....what seems to have been the leading face has a transparent glassy crust....one of the main things that appealed to me when I first saw it....
