About Meteorites - Further Reading
If you would like to extend your knowledge further, please consider reading one of these recommended books:
Field Guide to Meteors and Meteorites (2008) by O. Richard Norton and Lawrence A. Chitwood
. An excellent recent addition to the meteorite library, in full colour, very highly recommended.
Rocks from Space: Meteorites and Meteorite Hunters (1998) by O. Richard Norton
. Long considered one of the best introductions to the world of meteoritics.
Meteorites and Their Parent Planets (2nd Edition, 2008) by Harry Y. McSween Jr
. A detailed look, not aimed at the beginner, at where our favorite rocks have originated from.
The Cambridge Encyclopedia of Meteorites (2002) by O. Richard Norton
. A great reference source which has become difficult to obtain since it went out of print in April 2008. If you can find a reasonably priced second hand copy it's still worth considering.
Meteorites: Their Impact on Science and History (2001) by Brigitte Zanda (Editor) and Monica Rotaru (Editor)
. A nice full colour book which gives a broarder overview of meteoritics, including the history, impact craters, etc.
