This eucrite fell in the Czech Republic about 200 years ago, in a time when rocks falling from the skies had only just gained acceptance. Although many stones fell - estimated to be in the hundreds - just 66 were recovered, with a total known weight of only 52kg.
Stannern can be a difficult meteorite to acquire as museums won't let it go easily.
